The following Terms and Conditions apply to the use of this Web site as well as all transactions conducted through the site.

  • All Georgia Forestry Commission trees are one year old, bareroot, seedlings. Pines are 12 to 14 inches in height. Other species may be up to 5 feet. All trees are guaranteed to be living and healthy at time of delivery. If you are not satisfied with the condition of your seedlings at the time of delivery, notify the GFC immediately. Upon receipt, plant trees as quickly as possible. Trees can withstand short-term storage if kept cool and moist, away from sun, wind and heat. Proper planting, adequate soil moisture, and competition control are the most important factors in seedling survival. Use care.

    Planting Season The planting season for bareroot seedlings in Georgia is December through February. This is the only time GFC trees are available. Trees are mostly dormant at this time with reduced demand for water and nutrients leaving them better suited to withstand lifting, shipping, and transplanting. Additionally, air temperature and water availability are generally more conducive to seedling survival.

    Ordering The Georgia Forestry Commission begins taking orders for seedlings July 1 (the beginning of the state?s fiscal year) of each calendar year for the upcoming planting season. Orders are filled on a first-come, first-served basis until the nursery inventory is exhausted or planting season ends in early March. Orders, payments, or trees cannot be held over from one year to the next. Orders from out of state customers will be accepted, but must be picked up in the State of Georgia.

    Delivery Orders are shipped from the nursery to each of the local GFC offices weekly by state truck. Customers must pick up their orders at the local unit. See www.gatrees.org for the office serving your county. Customers will receive a paper confirmation "of their ordering information including the date and county of delivery. The local office will telephone when your order arrives. Out of state orders can be picked up only at the GFC offices in Georgia. (Contact the Flint River Nursery to specify county of delivery.)

  • Cancellations and Refunds Orders can be cancelled with full cash refund prior to November 15 of each year. After that time orders can be modified, but no cash refunds will be made.
